We visited Scotland in 2019 on a cruise of the British Isles which was crammed with port stops and long days.
We got to see a lot of the countryside, but tended to have little interaction with the average population.
There were a few exceptions which I have addressed in particular locations.
In fact, I left with the impression that anyone who didn't live in the big cities, in both Ireland and Scotland, worked in the tourist industry.
