travel europe italy lazio rome

Hot and full of history... Rome has many interesting areas to explore... if you can stand the heat and the crowds.
On our first trip to Europe in 1978, we were on a fairly rigid group tour and only saw the main sites.
In 1984, I flew into Rome and had a day and a half to explore before flying to Athens to catch a Greek cruise.
In 1994, we visited Rome with the boys for the first time and walked around quite extensively.
In 1999, Wyatt and I visited Rome along with friend Larry Ehmke and his son, Larry, and visited several new sites like the catacombs.
In 2013, Lynn and I just flew into Rome and went directly to the port to catch a cruise...
In 2017, our large three-generation family rented an apartment and stayed four full, hot, days in Rome.
