ARTHUR BISHOP CHAMBERLIN [11]
Born: 12 March 1865, Solon, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio, USA.
Died: 28 September 1933, Minneapolis, Hennepin Co., Minnesota, USA.
Married: 18 January 1885, Georgiana Wood, daughter of Andrew Wood and Mary J. Wood.
Children: Mermon C., Helene, Gladys Elizabeth, David Holmes.

When it comes to Commercial Architecture, Arthur cut his teeth in Minneapolis working as a draftsman for some big firms that did commercial work.
Between 1890 and 1895, Arthur lived in Seattle, Washington, where he worked both with other firms as an architect and architectural illustrator and as a partner and single architect...
his best known building in Seattle was the Collins Building in 1894 which is on the Historical Register.
When construction came to a standstill in Seattle, Arthur returned to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and soon partnered with George Bertrand.
Bertrand & Chamberlin, and Arthur alone, were responsible for several important commercial buildings in the area including the Minneapolis Athletic Club and the Shriners' Hospital for Crippled Children.
I have just recently came across a reference that says Bertrand & Chamberlin opened a second office in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, Canada, and were responsible for several commercial and industrial projects there.
I hope to find time to research this some time soon.

Below are a few of his commercial works...
