Mammoth Hot Springs village, on the northern border of Yellowstone Park, is a small cluster of park buildings and and old, simple, hotel.
It is often a quieter, less hectic, area than the Old Faithful area an hour to the south.
The grassy parkways around the village are the home to a large herd of elk that that the tourists for granted and have full access to the village, eating anything in sight.
