The Olive Garden was probably our favorite place to stop for lunch when shopping in Eugene.
It was always clean and the food fresh and the service is usually very good.
Their Italian recipes are consistently well prepared and tasty.
Their simple green salad, served with bread sticks, is one of my favorites... the dressing excellent.
However, on our last visit here, Lynn found a wadded up square of white wrapping paper, probably 6 inches square, in the middle of her salad.
When we reported it to our waitress, she told her boss, and their response was to offer us a free desert.
Needless to say, Lynn couldn't finish her meal and we didn't want to stick around for any dessert.
We told the waitress we didn't want a dessert but maybe they could apply the dessert cost to our bill.
Their idea of compensation for our ruined day and the trash in our food was to not charge Lynn for her meal/trash.
Since then, we have vowed not to return.
