travel north america united states california carmel by the sea mission san carlos borromeo de carmelo

When I was young traveling with my parents, and later as I grew up, my fascination with history compelled me to stop and see as many of the missions I could.
Since this mission was headed by /saint Junipero Serra from 1770 until his death in 1784, it is especially significant in history.
I have had the opportunity to visit Mission San Carlos Borromeo de Carmelo several times over the years.
It is said to be the most authentically restored Roman Catholic mission churches in California.
From it's crooked window to its intimate architecture, San Carlos Borromeo is one of my favorite missions.
