The octagonal Florence Baptistry is also known as the Baptistery of Saint John and is considered a minor basilica constructed in the Florentine Romanesque style.
The baptistery is probably best known for its bronze south doors that were created by Andrea Pisano and its more famous "Doors of Paradise" east doors by Lorenzo Ghiberti.
