travel europe italy liguria the cinque terre vernazza the waterfront

In October of 2011, Vernazza experienced a massive flood and mud slide that raged through the valley it occupies.
The flood more or less devestated the harbor area which has been rebuilt since then with a new beach and paved park area.
I have included photos from 1994 and 1999 showing how it looked before it was rebuilt.
