travel europe greece corfu palaiokastritsa around

Palaiokastritsa is probably Corfu's most famous beach town.
It is located northwest of Corfu Town on the opposite side of the island, about a 45 minute drive.
There are two main beaches separated by an elevated peninsula that houses a monastery.
Agios Siridon Beach is the larger beach that lies to the southeast of the monestery.
Ampelaki Beach, where we decided to rest and swim, is smaller and is located to the north west of the monastery.
There is a good sized free parking lot behind the beaches.
Beyond another peninsula to the south is Alipa Port, a small boat marina.
