Lynn picked this river rafting trip that was described as a "float" trip on the Rincon River by Princess but called "white-water rafting by the company.
This was okay with me because I was tired already from previous activities.
We had rafted the Rio Reventazon on a "white-water rafting" trip on a previous visit to Costa Rica and had had a good time.
The day started out badly and this was a good indication of what was to come...
Possibly due to an accident, it took forever to get from the port to the river in a bus that left me 6 inches of leg space between my seat and the one in front.
I had to sit sideways or spread legged for hours going each way.
We arrived at the Rincon Corobici Restaurante which was the starting point for the rafting.
After a late meal, we got aboard our rafts and entered the river for what I expected to be a calm float with abundant wildlife viewing...
Well, the river was calm... but our raft pilot was not.
He proceeded to alternate between racing the other rafts, taking alternate courses, and dropping back to do it all over again.
He never once pointed out wildlife, even when other passengers pointed briefly at what they thought they had seen.
Since, it seems, I was the only paddler willing and able to move the boat, he was constantly yelling at us (really me) to provide quick power for his racing antics.
We ended the trip at a farm with no restroom or changing facilities (which had been promised) and had to walk 3/4 of mile to the bus.
All in all, a wasted and exhausting day.
