travel europe switzerland gimmelwald around
This beautiful little village hanging on the edge of the Schilthorn in the Swiss Alps was an early recommendation from Rick Steves.
The village is reached by the Schilthornbahn, a cable car, from the deep Lauterbrunen Valley below.. there are no paved roads into Gimmelwald.
Their is a good, mostly gradual trail from Gimmelwald up to the larger, more touristy village of Murren.
