Appenzell is a village and the capital of the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden in Switzerland.
We stopped for a short break in driving on the day we flew into Zurich and were in route for the Romantic Road.
My memories are of a simple, clean, attractive town that I might want to explore further on another trip.
