Bolsena is a town and commune in the province of Viterbo in northern Lazio on the shores of Lake Bolsena.
In 1994, we stopped at Lake Bolsena on a hot day to try and cool off with a dip in the placid waters.
The water did not feel refreshing... too warm... and the distinct feeling that the water was not particularly clean.
