travel europe greece santorini/thira island city of thira donkey trail

On our first trip to Santorini in 1978, you had two choices to get from the boat dock up the cliffs to Thira.
You could climb up the trail on foot, or you could pay to ride a mule. It was worth the expense to ride.
On our second trip, we found they had opened a gondola lift to the top... quicker but less atmosphere.
