The city of Hamburg, in the German state of Hamburg, is officially the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
In 1994, while driving south from Norway to meet the rest of the family in Frankfurt, my son, Wyatt, and I stopped briefly in Hamburg
The purpose was to see the Chilehaus by architect, Fritz Hogar, that was mentioned in my guide book, "Modern Architecture in Europe.
We were extremely tired and on a short schedule to meet the plane.
The side trip was brief, quite unrewarding, and no time was given to exploring this second largest city in Germany ...
