travel europe germany bavaria hohenschwangau around hohenschwangau

Hohenschwangau (translated above Schwangau) is a small village in the foothills of the Alps above and east of the cities of Fussen and Schwangau.
It is the home to two visitable castles... King Ludwig's famous Neuschwanstien (New Swan Stone) Castle, and his father's, older, Schloss Hohenschwangau.
The village is home to several lodging accomodations, restaurants, and the take off point for the horse carriages that will take you up to Neuschwanstien Castle.
