Freiburg, or Freiburg im Breisgau, is a large university town in the southwest of Germany straddling the Dreisam River.
The city sits at the foot of the Schlossberg and on the western edge of the Black Forest.
We enjoyed visiting this city because we were shown around by a former exchange student, Martin, who stayed in Oregon with good friends.
We particularly enjoyed visiting the old town during the Christmas season.
