travel europe france the south of france carcassonne around

Walking around Carcassonne, especially at night, sometimes had a strange feeling to it.
Unlike most of the places we visited in France, we were not over-whelmed with hordes of tourists.
Perhaps it was the time of year, or it was the locals not speaking any English, but there was an "empty" feeling about the city.
