ARCHITECT: UNKNOWN (1242-1248)

The Louvre is the world's largest art museum with over 38,000 objects exhibited in an area of 782,910 square feet.
It was originally built as the Louvre castle, late 12th to 13th century, then as the Louvre Palace, primary residence of French Kings.
It wasn't until about 1682 that it was relagated to housing royal exhibits.
To give the Louvre any kind of justice you need, at least, almost a full day... and then you are just touching the surface.
