Bayeux, 4 miles from the coast, was the first major town secured by the Alllies in WWII's Operation Overlord.
It is also home to the famous Bayeux Tapestry which illustrates events leading up to the Norman conquest of England.
We stayed here in a "Family Home" and found a little time to walk around the town center and see Notre Dame de Bayeux.
