travel europe finland helslinki sibelius monument

In Sebelius park next to the water in Toolo district, is this monumental tribute to Finland's most famous composer, Jean Sibelius (1865-1957).
This contemporary sculpture was created by Elia Hiltunen and unveiled in 1967. A bust of Sibelius was added later.
While we were there, a group of visitors took the opportunity to sing acapella under the tubes of the sculpture
creating a beautiful and haunting memory."
