travel the caribbean martinique fort-de-france waterfront
Fort-De-France Bay provides a colorful and lively waterfront for Fort-de-France.
Besides the busy cruise ship dock, the old Fort Saint Louis provides a visual anchor to the south side of the city waterfront.
We walked south along the waterfront toward Fort Staint Louis from the cruise dock.
A pleasant surprise was the area just below the Fort which, instead of a big city waterfront, looked like a remote island beach.
Beneath the palm trees is a white sand beach, sail boats to rent, and a play area for children.
