travel the caribbean guadeloupe

French Guadeloupe is really made up of two islands connected in the middle and shaped like a butterfly.
The day we arrived at Pointe-a-Pitre, the docks were clogged with striking bus drivers. It took hours to just get off the dock.
The normal ground tours were gone. We grabbed an unscheduled bus tour that took us across Grande Terre Island,
then across the Salt River that separates the two islands, then across Base-Terre to the west coast for
snorkeling off a glass bottom boat.
