Tokyo, the Japanese capital since 1869, is a huge city trying to expand into the sea on reclaimed land.
I first visited Tokyo in 1998 on an architectural tour that allowed me to see some of Japan's greatest architecture.
We made another visit to Tokyo again in 2020.
Visiting the city always allows me to see a concentrated version of the complex Japanese culture.
