This city was the host to the 1998 winter Olympics and we visited many of the structures built for this event.
We walked through the huge Buddhist Zenko-ji Temple.
We also had one of our most memorable events of our trip to Japan... we were invited to a traditional Japanese dinner
at the best restaurant in town by a young school principal and his beautiful family that had traveled many miles from the west coast of Japan just to be our host.
We had been last minute hosts in Oregon to both he and another teacher when their scheduled exchange hosts had become unavailable.
