Stanley, also called Chek Chue in Chinese, is a coastal town on the southeast of Hong Kong Island.
When we first visited Hong Kong in 1991, Stanley was the place to go for the Stanley Market where you could, supposedly, get great goods at great prices.
When we passed through in 2020, there was no sign of the flea market type little shops we saw before and, at least part of, the old beach appeared to be a concrete boardwalk .
The land was now covered in high-rise apartments and condos.
