Starting in 1962, I played competitive volleyball in both doubles and 6-man... initially, two or three nights a week.
Recreational volleyball in the San Fernando Valley, where I lived, was available almost every night at one location or another.
I played most regularly at Olive and Verdugo Recreation Centers in Burbank, but also played on a fairly regular basis at Pierce College and Cal State Northridge.
Recreational play soon led to Club play and I played on a variety of teams including California-Hawaii, Fakowi Flyers, Hobbits, and others.
I have fond memories of playing against teams from many soon-to-be legendary hotbeds of volleyball such as Westside JCC and Santa Monica City College.
When I started putting together my web pages, I as suprized to find that I could find no photos of our club teams except for the World Senior Games.
Regular teammates on club teams: Mike Henry, Ken Rahn, Ron Morris, George Thompson, and Harold Reiser.
